Exercise in Exposure: The Sheet Cabinet

Is it a shelf? Is it a cabinet?

What is certain is that this hard to define beauty is designer Bjørn van den Berg’s creation.

All-Out Wires

How do you feel about a monochrome and stainless steel look? Would you find a place for it in your home, other than in the kitchen? Or is it too industrial and cold?

Personally I love this mix.

Typeborg Alphabet

You may already know that I’m excited about typography and all products that incorporate it in some form or another (toy alphabet blocks, pencils featuring Arne Jacobsen’s hand drawn alphabet from 1937, bedding).

No surprise then that I had to share graphic designer Marcel Piekarski‘s original and quirky 3D alphabet, called Type Cycle, where each letter is designed using detached pieces of bikes and 3D elements.

If going out for a spin is your thing, maybe you can spot a part here, a part there.

Small Objects with a Concrete Feel

I love these small objects in concrete. Not just because of how they look, but also because of how I imagine they would feel when held. Pretty heavy and cool, a little rough, with a delicate pattern of small air pockets.

Jewellery as an Extension of Industrial Style

If you are the industrial style type and love exposed ductwork, rough edges and metallic shine, these pieces of jewellery may be to your liking.

Industrial Design: Liquid Clock

Liquid clock, a phrase that made me think of Salvador Dali’s surrealist melting watches. But can industrial design turn a metaphor into a tangible object? This is the case with Rhei, the brainchild of Damjan Stankovic.

An electro-mechanical clock with a liquid display, Rhei is singularly fit to capture the continuous movement of time.
