An Island of One’s Own

If I ever had to create a layout for a new kitchen I would love to have the space to add an island, just like in the kitchen below. An island gives you some extra countertop space and storage, sure, but is also an element that can become the focus point of the kitchen.

This whole apartment is beautifully and sparingly furnished, with high quality finishes everywhere (marble countertops, black window frames, vintage sockets).

How ingenious is the partitioning wall between the living and the kitchen?

And take a look at this small guest room. Cute with just the basics.

I would move right in and not change a thing.

What about you? Would you be OK with an island or a tree in your home?
