An Island of One’s Own

If I ever had to create a layout for a new kitchen I would love to have the space to add an island, just like in the kitchen below. An island gives you some extra countertop space and storage, sure, but is also an element that can become the focus point of the kitchen.

Add Some ZZZs to Your Space

I just love the clean aesthetic of this magazine rack designed by Jonas Hansen as part of his Q1 collection. It feels so versatile.

Atypical Angles

What do you do when you have an unconventional floor plan with walls forming atypical angles? Well, you play it up and make it the focal point in the room.

That’s exactly what the owners did in this space. They placed posters and wall art on both walls at an odd angle and the result is stunning.

Is it a shelf? Is it a cabinet?

What is certain is that this hard to define beauty is designer Bjørn van den Berg’s creation.

Lumira and Wanderlust Rush

Whenever I read Cereal’s stories I get a rush of wanderlust.

Beautifully written and packed to the brim with pastel shots of exotic places, the stories make me wonder what it would be like to experience these sights firsthand. Would I have eyes for the mango trees that ‘tangle with flowering shrubs in intimate embrace’ or lose my head completely in the vibrant heat?

All-Out Wires

How do you feel about a monochrome and stainless steel look? Would you find a place for it in your home, other than in the kitchen? Or is it too industrial and cold?

Personally I love this mix.

Packaging Stories: One of Those

I like the concept: perfumes based on 8 elements from the Periodic Table – hydrogen, helium, lithium, carbon, oxygen, sulphur, mercury and curium. And then comes the original packaging, which is a tangible example of the “Less is more” rule.

Wall Combo: Sage and Light Grey

While looking through some Nordic interiors I came upon this beautiful space for sale via Entrance. I just had to share this inspired combination of sage, white and light grey that helps divide rooms and define functional areas.
